Demex Daily #213: Sui Unveils Mysticeti, Sets New Speed Benchmark in Blockchain

What’s Interesting Today:

Sui has launched its new Mysticeti protocol on its mainnet, significantly enhancing the blockchain's speed with a record-low consensus latency of 390 milliseconds. Developed from advanced research on Byzantine fault tolerance consensus mechanisms, Mysticeti replaces the older Narwhal-Bullshark protocols, offering a drastic improvement in transaction speed and reducing latencies for transactions involving shared objects. This deployment, previously tested on Testnet, enables Sui to handle tens of thousands of transactions per second with sub-second end-to-end latencies. Feedback from Sui’s developer community and partners like Aftermath Finance and Bluefin indicates tangible improvements in transaction speeds, benefiting both retail and institutional participants across the Sui ecosystem.

Ubisoft announced its new game, "Captain Laserhawk: The G.A.M.E.," to be developed on Ethereum layer-2 network Arbitrum. Based on the Netflix series "Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix" and featuring characters from Assassin’s Creed, Rayman, and Beyond Good & Evil, the game is described as a transmedia experience. It will incorporate Web3 governance, allowing community-driven narrative development and player influence on the game's evolution. The project, emphasizing shared creation and transparency, is being developed in collaboration with the Arbitrum Foundation and Sequence, a crypto game development suite from Horizon. This marks another step in Ubisoft’s deepening engagement with crypto gaming, following previous initiatives like in-game NFTs for Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.
