Demex Daily #102: Metis Partners with Chainlink for Cross-Chain Interoperability and Staking Innovations
What’s Interesting Today:
Metis, an emerging Ethereum Layer 2 solution, has partnered with Chainlink to enhance cross-chain interoperability and delve into the staking sector. This collaboration will see Metis adopt Chainlink's Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) for its token bridge, facilitating rapid and secure transfers, particularly of leading stablecoins, between Ethereum and Metis. The integration aims to significantly reduce transfer delays and introduce programmable token transfers. Furthermore, Metis is venturing into restaking by partnering with EigenLayer for Ethereum restaking and Renzo Finance for native staking on its network. This move towards restaking, which allows Ethereum stakers to earn additional yields, is expected to broaden Metis's utility and appeal, especially as the network's total value locked (TVL) and the price of its native token, METIS, have seen significant growth.
Ankr is partnering with Babylon to introduce liquid staking tokens (LSTs) for Bitcoin staked through Babylon's protocols. This collaboration aims to enhance the security and liquidity of proof-of-stake (PoS) chains. Ankr's initiative will allow stakers to lock their BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain and receive newly minted LSTs on a PoS chain of their choice, contributing to its security. Additionally, Ankr plans to operate validators on Babylon's testnet and develop sophisticated security solutions to bolster Babylon's nodes and finality providers.
