ARPA Network has launched its random number generator, Randcast, on Optimism, a layer-2 blockchain built on Ethereum. This move fills a gap as there was previously no mature and secure random number solution available on Optimism.


A community developer has added a new feature to Uniswap V4 pools that facilitates Know Your Customer (KYC) verification before users can engage in trading. This feature is optional and utilizes a nonfungible token (NFT) for the verification process. While some argue that this could lead to regulatory approval for DeFi protocols, others see it as a positive development for projects that need to adhere to existing regulations. Uniswap V4, which includes these adaptable hooks, is slated for release in early 2024 and will be open to entities approved by governance.
