Demex Daily #11: $SOL MetaMask Integrates Solflare for Solana Asset Management
What’s Interesting Today:
Solana wallet Solflare has introduced a feature allowing MetaMask users to manage their Solana portfolios directly from their existing MetaMask wallets. Previously, Solana was incompatible with MetaMask, requiring users to create a separate wallet for Solana-based assets like SOL and NFTs. The integration aims to lower entry barriers to Solana and attract Ethereum users. The feature utilizes "Solana Snaps" and an integrated bridge powered by DLN from deBridge to connect with Ethereum and other EVM-compatible chains. Migrating EVM assets to Solana reportedly takes less than a minute. Despite concerns about bridge vulnerabilities in the crypto ecosystem, deBridge, which powers the integration, claims its infrastructure is designed to minimize classical bridge exploits.

Manta Network has launched Manta Pacific, its layer-2 scaling network based on zero-knowledge (ZK) proofs, aimed at facilitating the development of decentralized applications (DApps) on the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The platform offers a software development kit and a ZK library to provide plug-and-play functionality for developers. Being EVM-native, Manta Pacific allows for easy deployment of apps on both Ethereum and its own network. The ZK-enabled technology promises lower gas fees and higher scalability. Manta Network core contributor Kenny Li believes that the market will eventually converge to a few ZK-layer-2 solutions focused on simplifying ZK-enabled application development. The network has been in development for nine months and raised $25 million in July 2023, targeting expansion and adoption in the Asian market.
