Demex Daily #22: $LINK $BASE Chainlink Partners with Coinbase's Base to Enable Cross-Chain Apps

What’s Interesting Today:

Chainlink has integrated its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with Coinbase's layer 2 network, Base. This allows developers to build web3 products capable of multi-network hosting and cross-chain transactions. The move aims to spur innovation and has already enabled cross-chain lending on Chainlink's platform. This is CCIP's sixth network integration, and both Chainlink and Base expect the partnership to attract more developers to build advanced cross-chain applications.

Uniswap is seeking approval for a second tranche of $62 million in funding via an on-chain vote set for October 4. The funds, part of a $74 million total, will be used for operations and research grants by the Uniswap Foundation. The foundation aims to enhance core protocol metrics and innovation for the decentralized exchange (DEX). They also plan to develop a software kit for Uniswap v4. The funding was split into two tranches to allow time for legal registration and nonprofit status approval. In the last year, the foundation spent $4.8 million on research grants, $3.15 million on operations, and reported a $1.29 million capital loss. They plan to issue $10-$15 million per year in community grants.
